Beautiful
Monmouth Park Racetrack has a special place in American Thoroughbred
racing history that started back on July 30, 1870. In an effort
to recreate summertime excitement and interest in the resort
town of Long Branch, local businessmen and hotel owners turned
to horse racing.
Currently, Monmouth Park occupies 350 acres and with its gracefully
manicured grounds, English Walking Ring and stately presence,
has long been considered one
of Americas most beautiful racing venues.
Monmouth Park's show case event of the summer is the Haskell
Invitational Handicap. The 2005 running of the Haskell marks
the 38th renewal of the race named for the first president
and chairman of the Monmouth Park Jockey Club, Amory Lawrence
Haskell. With a puse of $1 million, The Haskell is the riches
invitational event contested in America.
Come play in our park for the day. Find a relaxing, comfortable
