Ellis:
I recently saw something on TV
that
resonated with me. I was watching "Mad
Money" and Jim Cramer was talking about
a
clothing
company whose stock had lost 80% of its value since
the
beginning of the year. He was comparing it to a similar
clothing company that had increased in value by over
250%
during the same time period. Now you may or may not
like
Jim Cramer, but what were the reasons for the big
difference
in results? One company was standing still while
the
other
company was constantly offering new products,
developing,
and changing. In short, one company was "listening" to
their
clients, the other was resting on past
results.
While GMS is in a totally different
industry, many of the points made cross industry lines
and
made me ponder our business
and our service
delivery
systems. Are we developing, changing, improving?
In
short, are we listening to our clients?
Obviously,
this
question is ultimately for you to answer, but I know our
team
is emotionally attached to our growth and the
service
we
bring to you. At our core is a passion to help small
business
owners succeed. Every service, product, event,
and
investment of capital has the success of our members as the
common
denominator.
As we move forward together, GMS
encourages your feedback and comments. We do not know
it all
and every week we go
over in detail member issues and
suggestions in our team meetings. Your feedback is
critical to continuous improvement.
Our move to
Brick
is the latest step in our effort to continue to improve
and
become more efficient as an organization. We
are
positioned much
better to serve you, showcase our Network and
expand
benefits. In fact, we will be adding another
important
benefit to your membership effective immediately
(detailed in
this newsletter) in addition to the monthly breakfast
meetings.
Running a business is not easy.
Pleasing every customer all the time is impossible.
However, giving you 100% and listening
when you voice
your
concern is guaranteed. This is our growth

Do you work out of your home and would like a
neutral
location to schedule a meeting? Or, do you have clients
that
are in
the Brick area and would like you to come to them,
but
not to their home? Maybe you would like to have an
outside
location
to hold training, a class, or just would like a
location
to get some work done outside of your current office or home
from
time
to time. We want you to use us as a
resource, so
for short business utilization there is no cost to you! (1
hour or
less).
Whatever the reason, GMS may be able to help
provide a
solution for you. Our new location has a small but
accommodating
conference room area for just such occasions.
Members may reserve the room by the hour for approved
business
purposes
by simply emailing us the date and time you
would
like. Our rate for "members only" is $15 per hour
for 1-4
persons and $25
per hour for groups of 5-10.
Ten
people is currently the limit due to parking and space
capacity. Refreshments are available
upon request.

Here's how it works. Every
member
golfing must RSVP. RSVP's are final. Only 72 slots are
available.
At 2:30, all participants will start off
at 1
of 18 holes. 4 people per hole, 2 people per cart.
We will keep
parties together upon request, otherwise
holes and
teams will just be randomly selected and put
together.
Since we will have the entire course to ourselves, this is an
excellent chance no matter
what your skill level is,
to get
out in the sun and have a great time.
You do
not have
to participate in the golf outing to enjoy The Networking
Event. RSVP is
required for the golf portion only,
NOT the
business card exchange from 12pm - 2pm.

Go for
it little man!

Injuries bite
GMS
Racing in July!
July was officially "bite the dust" month for
the
GMS Racing team. In mid July,
both Brian and
Marvin
went down hard on 3 different tracks resulting in
poor
finishes
and injured bodies. Luckily, both riders are back in
the
saddle!
At Sleepy Hollow, Little Marv was in 1st
place
when a crash over a 30-foot
double jump brought him back
to 6th
position. My little hero climbed back to
3rd place
overall,
but sprained his ankle in the process. The Doctor said
he'd
be
out for 3 - 6 weeks, but he is riding again and should
be
racing this weekend.
Brian also crashed at Sleepy
Hollow in
the mud, but it was during the race at
Englishtown
where
he tore a ligament in his hand sidelining him
for 2
weeks.
The good news is that he is also up and riding
again. Time to get back to work!
