Evaluate Your Marketing
$$$ |

Trade shows and expos can be a smart choice for
your
marketing dollar. However, how do you decide where
those
marketing dollars are allocated so that you get the
biggest bang
for your buck? The truth is that as entrepreneurs we
are
always going to have to take risks, but make sure you are
taking
"calculated" risks. One question we always ask
ourselves here
at GMS is: How many clients do we need to break even?
The
next question is: Do we honestly think we have a good chance
at obtaining that many clients at this or that event?
If
the answer is yes, we usually take the "calculated" risk.
It
is all about Return On Investment (ROI). If the
opportunity
is great enough to cover the cost, we usually take the plunge!
Keep in mind that even if your immediate results are
limited,
exposure also has a value. Familiarity and name
recognition is huge in marketing. Whenever you
can
get your name out in the public eye, good things can happen.
GMS and other active networking organizations
are usually a good decision because the risk you are
taking is
really on YOU so long as there are opportunities to get in
front
of other people. People buy people first, then the
product or
service second. Many make the mistake of
talking about their product and services too quickly
when first
meeting someone. Give people a chance to get to know
you
and then what you are offering. It is much better to
let
people warm up to you first and your products or
services
afterwards. If people like you, the rest is history because
as
business owners, we should know our product and service
better
than anyone else. So who better to explain it than
you? (I hope you answered
"Nobody"!)
This coming month, we have another excellent
opportunity
for you to network with other business owners and
present
your business to over 8,000 people. What are the
odds that
you will recoup your $200? For most businesses, it
is a
slam dunk! With the opportunity to both network and market
your
business this is an excellent "calculated"
risk.

 Ready
to Race at Englishtown!

ENGLISHTOWN -
Marv
pulls a 3rd!
First
things first. A huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors.
They've really stepped up and supported the GMS Racing
Team in
2007. Moto-X has torn down Brian's bike twice this
year
and has simply been fantastic. Our other Sponsors
top to
bottom have all been generous financially and we simply
couldn't
be racing without them. Please click on their banners
below and find out more about them. Every owner
behind the
banner is outstanding!
Brian Smith's YZ450F is
completely
taken apart and is waiting on "a part" from the factory.
So... He has been racing a CR250 against other 450's and is
still holding his own. Last week at Englishtown,
Brian
pulled a 3rd and a 5th against over 15 riders.
Little Marv finished 3rd out of 9 last Sunday at
Englishtown
and was running in 2nd at Flying Dutchman when he crashed
hard
over a 35 foot double jump. When I got to him, his nose
was
bleeding and his side was bruised but he wanted to finish
and
still ended up placing 3rd! We can learn a lot from
these
kids! |
